Virtual Therapy in Texas | Neurodivergent-Affirming Care, Teens & Neurodiverse Relationships | BCBS & Cigna Accepted

Your brain has always worked a little differently. Maybe you've known it your whole life — or maybe you're just now starting to put the pieces together.

Either way, you've probably spent a lot of energy trying to make yourself fit into systems and spaces that weren't designed with your brain in mind. At work. At school. In relationships. In your own head.

Maybe you've just gotten a late diagnosis and you're trying to figure out what that means for everything — who you've been, who you are, and who you're becoming. Maybe you're in a relationship where one of you is neurodivergent and the other isn't, and getting on the same page feels like you're speaking entirely different languages. Maybe you're a teen trying to hold it all together — school, family, friendships, identity — and something keeps slipping.

Or maybe you've just been escaping. Into books, into screens, into anything that feels safer and easier than being fully present in the world.

You don't need someone to tell you to try harder. You need someone who actually gets how your brain works — and can help you work with it instead of against it.

That's what therapy with me looks like.

Hi, I'm Abby 🌿

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate providing virtual therapy across Texas.

I specialize in neurodivergent-affirming care — working with teens and adults who have ADHD, Autism, late diagnoses, OCD, or some combination of all of the above. I also work with neurodiverse relationships where one or more partners are neurodivergent and communication has become a real challenge. And I love working with new parents who are sitting with all the feelings that come with that season — the beautiful ones and the ones nobody warned you about.

People often tell me I show up as a real human in session — not just someone nodding along with a blank expression. I believe therapy can be both meaningful and fun. I'm not afraid to think outside the box, and I'm especially good at finding creative ways to help neurodiverse brains visualize and process what we're working on together.

I believe every brain is worth understanding — including yours.

A Brief Personal Note About Me:

I come to sessions as my authentic self — and I'll always make space for you to do the same.

I became a therapist because I know what it's like to feel like your brain doesn't quite fit the mold. I think therapy works best when it's collaborative, honest, and maybe even a little unexpected. My job isn't to fix you — it's to help you understand yourself well enough that you can start doing things differently.

And yes — we might even have some fun along the way.

How I work:

As an Autism-affirming therapist, my approach is warm, creative, and grounded in the belief that every brain is differentI pull from evidence-based methods including:

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) — because sometimes you need something you can actually use today, not just eventually

Person-Centered Therapy — keeping you, not a diagnosis or a protocol, at the center of our work

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) — to identify and shift the thought patterns keeping you stuck

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) — for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and practical coping tools

Attachment-Based Therapy & Internal Family Systems (IFS) — to explore the deeper patterns and parts of yourself driving your behavior

I'm especially good at finding out-of-the-box techniques that help neurodiverse brains visualize and process what we're working on — because the standard approach doesn't always work for a brain that thinks differently.

Together we'll work on:

Understanding how your brain works — and how to work with it instead of against it

Building practical tools you can actually use the same day we talk about them

Navigating the deeper, longer-term burdens that have been weighing you down

Finding language and strategies for neurodiverse relationships where communication has broken down

Strengthening your sense of self — especially if a late diagnosis has you rethinking everything

Who I Work With

I specialize in working with teens and adults navigating:

  • Neurodivergence — ADHD, Autism, late diagnoses, OCD, and everything in between

  • Neurodiverse relationship counseling — for couples and partners where one or more people are neurodivergent and communication has become a real challenge

  • Focus challenges at school or work that feel impossible to reel back in

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Life transitions and identity questions — especially around late diagnosis

  • New parenthood — all the feelings, not just the pretty ones

  • Teens juggling school, family, friendships, and identity

  • Media escape — chronically retreating into books, games, or social media because real life feels like too much

If you're looking for ADHD therapy in Texas — whether you're newly diagnosed, questioning, or have known for years — this is a space that was built for you.

I frequently work with:

  • Adults who just received a late ADHD or Autism diagnosis and are reprocessing everything through that lens

  • Teens who feel like they're holding too much and don't know where to put it

  • Couples and partners in neurodiverse relationships who want to actually understand each other

  • New parents sitting with complicated emotions they weren't expecting

  • People who have tried therapy before and felt like their therapist just didn't get how their brain works

  • Adults navigating late diagnosis therapy — processing an ADHD or Autism diagnosis and seeing their whole life through a new lens

Your Questions, Answered

We Might Work Well Together If…

  • You think you might have ADHD, Autism, OCD — or some fun combination of all three

  • You recently got a late diagnosis and you're trying to figure out what it means for your past, your present, and your future

  • You're in a neurodiverse relationship and getting on the same page feels impossible

  • You're struggling to focus at school or work and nothing you've tried has helped

  • You're a new parent sitting with feelings you weren't prepared for — the beautiful ones and the hard ones

  • You're a teen trying to hold everything together and something keeps slipping

  • You've been escaping into media because the real world feels overwhelming right now

  • You want a therapist who will actually be human with you in session — not just sit there with a blank expression

  • You're okay with therapy being a little unexpected and maybe even a little fun
